U.K. 2018, 101 min., drama/music
Director: Tom Harper

Fresh out of a one-year jail term for narcotics possession, 23-year- old working-class Rose-Lynn Harlan from Glasgow, Scotland, tries to rectify her chaotic life. Streetwise, rebellious, and free-spirited, Rose-Lynn reconnects with her children, cared for during her incarceration by her disapproving mother. But can she make her life work?

Despite all odds, she travels to Nashville, Tennessee, following her dream of making it as a country singer at the Grand Ole Opry.  But life is about compromises and choices. And what does it really mean to “make it”? This film has been described as dazzling, raw, intoxicating, and electric; with great music.  It received many award nominations, as well as BAFTA Scotland & Dublin Film wins for best actress.
