Membership is required
Under British Columbia law, film societies may only show films to members, and members must be 18 years of age or over. Annual memberships are $10 and are good until August 31, 2024.
Ticket Prices
Regular Screenings: $10
All members will be asked to show their membership card at the door.
Advance Ticket Sales
Members may buy advance tickets via credit card. Credit card payments are now processed by Stripe. (Previously we used PayPal.)
Advance tickets for Gibsons screenings are available online until midnight the night before a screening. We sell up to 100 advance tickets for the 146 seat theatre.
Tickets for Sechelt screenings are available online until 5 pm the day before a screening. We sell up to 200 advance tickets for the 274 seat theatre.
We appreciate it if people with advance tickets arrive at least 10 minutes before the start.
At the Door Tickets
Tickets are also sold at the door on a cash-only basis, beginning 30 minutes before the screening.
Refunds not Available
Please note that we are not set up to issue refunds. If you have bought an advance ticket and cannot attend a screening, please contact membership@scfs.ca at least 24 hours in advance and we may be able to switch your ticket to another screening, depending on availability.
How to Purchase Tickets
If you are purchasing two tickets on the same device, you must sign out of the first person’s membership before buying a ticket for the second person.
Sign in to our website using the Sign In button at the top of the right-hand column.
Visit the Home page of the website and identify the film you are interested in. Click the Details… link for that film.
Below the information about that film, you will see buttons for Gibsons and Sechelt film screenings. Click the button for the location you are interested in.
Click the Buy Ticket button.
If you haven’t remembered to sign in, you will see a table with two Sign In links. Click either of those links and sign in. (It doesn’t matter which link you use. They both go to the same place.)
Choose the quantity of tickets you want to purchase. (The form will only allow you to choose 1.)
Enter your credit card information and click the Buy Ticket button. (If you are a Sustaining Member, you will not be asked for your credit card information. Just click the Buy Ticket button.)
You should receive a confirmation email for your ticket. If you are not a Sustaining Member, you should also receive an email receipt for your payment. These emails may end up in your Junk/Spam/Bulk email folder.
If you wish to buy a ticket for a second person, click Sign Out. This is important! Now you can repeat the above steps to purchase the second person’s ticket.
