Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

USA 2015, 105 min, comedy/drama. Director: Alfonso Gomez-Rejon

Photo still from 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl'

"High-school students have plenty of growing pains to offload, and Gomez-Rejon clearly knows what makes them tick. His film is at once buzzy, fun and confronting.— Ed Gibbs, The Guardian

This hit of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, winning both the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize, is a charming, comic, yet moving film. Greg, an awkward high school senior, drifts outside the mainstream along with his dour buddy, Earl. Everything changes when Greg is forced by his mother to connect with a childhood friend, Rachel, whose health is failing. Along the course of Rachel’s illness, heartfelt lessons are learned but laughter is never far away.
