Finders Keepers

USA 2015, 82 min, documentary.
Director: Bryan Carberry, J. Clay Tweel.

"...a fantastic story that touches upon all-American notions of celebrity, redemption, family, justice, class, meme culture—all which came together with a kooky news segment. ” — Nick Allen, rogerebert.com

This funny, poignant, and stranger-than-fiction true story tells the battle of two men over custody of a mummified human leg. When John Wood fails to make his payments on the storage locker housing his lost limb, a bargain hunter, Shannon Whisnant, snaps up the contents at a North Carolina auction and sees it as a money making tourist attraction. This comic catastrophe engenders a media frenzy that makes it to reality television. Along the way we are treated to an insightful and uplifting—if oddball—very human story.
