Gloria

Chile/Spain, 2013, 110min, drama. Spanish with English subtitles.
Director: Sebastián Lelio

Still from 'Gloria'

Gloria, a 58-year-old divorcée living in Santiago, has no desire to spend her nights alone, and rushes headlong into an ultimately disappointing whirl of singles parties. Then she meets Rodolfo, an older ex-naval officer who seems destined to change all that, but challenges force Gloria to confront her own dark secrets. This portrait of a powerful woman who asserts strength and independence amidst a maelstrom of conflicting feelings won 15 film awards.

"Subtlety, veracity, intellilgence, humor, complexity.... Delicious." —El Pais
