Canada 2011, 109 min, comedy. French with English subtitles
Director: Ken Scott
Quebecois storytelling at its outrageously finest! Perennially adolescent 40-year-old David Wozniak’s past catches up with him when he discovers he has fathered 533 children from sperm donations he made 20 years ago when he generated income from his favourite “recreational pursuit.” The Globe & Mail noted that Starbuck is “an ingratiating comedy based on the premise that it takes a village to raise an adult.” Great heart, great story, and great fun.
The film's title refers to a Canadian Holstein bull who produced hundreds of thousands of progeny by artificial insemination in the 1980s and 1990s.
